So you want wedding photos that look fun, natural, and like you're having a great time? Well here's the secret: having fun while you are taking them! Curious how to make that happen? The answer is simple: Me!
If you already Googled "questions to ask a wedding photographer" then you're in luck - because we can hammer out the answers to those boring questions quickly and then get onto what really matters.
Yes - I shoot on professional gear and bring backup equipment (if anything takes a tumble we can just keep on rocking). I take special care with camera cards (and shoot on duplicates) so your memories are well protected. I share calendars with a group of incredible wedding photographers so I know who is available in an emergency situation. I've been doing this for 8 years and have learned to bob and weave (boxing term* I'm cool like that) on even the craziest wedding days!
If we were writing resumes, then you'd be impressed by mine, but I'm a big believer in that is NOT what you want to look for when picking a wedding photographer.
Don't get me wrong, I want you to love my portfolio and vibe with my bright and airy style of shooting. But just an importantly, I want you to like me! You will spend as much time with me on your wedding day as your Bridesmaids (maybe more!) and you didn't choose them based on who could bustle a dress quicker.
When you look back at your beautiful wedding photos you are going to remember how you felt during them. I want those feelings to be relaxed, genuine, and full of fun. I want your big day to be everything you dreamed it would be and I want every picture to bring you back to that joy.
So, if you are looking for beautiful photos and a fun chick to have around for the day, then I'm ready to be the Robin to your Batman (or if you aren't into superheroes we can find another reference)!
I am tall... like really tall. People like to point this out to me often, as if it something I may not be aware of. However, at 5'12" I am surprisingly proportionate.
My middle name is Lee and my last name is Smyth but I chose to use my middle name for my business to avoid the confusion people seem to have with spelling Smyth. I kept my last name when I got married and to make things extra fun (aka confusing) my husband's last name is Smith! So we collective go by the Smith-Smyths!
I will do almost anything is exchange for an oreo cookie. But who wouldn't?
I have a wonderful husband who pushes me to pursue the thing I love. I wouldn't be the person I am without him... nor would I own such fun tiny humans! Oh, and those tiny humans are Parker and Rory.
I went to school for Criminology and did a Grad Certificate in Victimology - it was clearly a windy road that lead me to photography, but I wouldn't change a thing! I've been doing this since 2013 and I'm so grateful for the incredible couples who have trusted me with their big days and special moments.
"These are amazing!! I can't stop smiling looking at them. My mom is basically in tears (haha). Thank you SO much" - Julia
"Oh my gosh oh my gosh THANK YOU! Ahhh" - Cassie
"OMG...these are all so amazing. I cannot thank you enough.. you did SUCH an incredible job, and captured out day so perfectly." - Megan
