Colourful Codes Mill Wedding // Jessie + Jordan

It is not often that I am counted amongst the naysayers, but I have to admit that Jessie and Jordan’s wedding day was one such occasion. Wait wait… that has nothing to do with them getting married! These two are a perfect pair and their colourful Codes Mill wedding was spectacular. My doubt was entirely weather based and oh boy am I glad these two ignored me!

When we met for their (incredible) first look in Stewart park, the dark clouds just kept rolling in and we could hear the thunder cracking off in the distance. Once we wrapped, and just after Jessie headed back to the hotel to get ready for the ceremony starting in 30 minutes, the skies opened up and down came the rain! The chairs and arbour were already set up in the park for the outdoor ceremony and I was pretty sure we were about to make the call to re-locate inside the Codes Mill for the back up spot. I called Jordan (who was huddled under an umbrella with his groomsmen by the ceremony site) and he was super chill and said we were going to wait and see if it blew over. Then I swung by Jessie and the girls in the hotel (with a handful of umbrellas) and she too, calmly told me that we were going to roll with the outdoor ceremony and this downpour would just be temporary. I appreciated their commitment and Brent and I prepared our equipment for when the rain joined us again in the middle of the ceremony!

Oh how wrong I was! The storm moved on and the freaking sun came out just as Jessie started walking down the aisle! I bow down to Jessie, Jordan, and their ability to read the weather radar! It was incredible! We had a beautiful sky for the entire ceremony, wedding party photos, and some more pictures of Jessie and Jordan. As we shot our last frame at the “Welcome to Perth” wall and started walking into the reception – BAM – the thunder cracked and the rain came. We tucked ourselves inside the Codes Mill and got down to partying the night away (except for the 20 minute hold up when the power went off. haha).

These two deserved the perfect wedding day and I have never been so happy to be so wrong! The laughter and love completely outweighed any rain that fell and I am grateful to have been there for it all.

Jessie and Jordan – I am sorry for all my weather doubt! You two have been such a pleasure to work with and I wish a lifetime of happiness and sunny skies!
