Malaika, James + Asher // Family Session

I don’t usually share photos from family sessions that I photograph, but this one is special to me. Malaika has been a dear friend of mine for years and she was one of the first people that knew about me starting my photography business. In fact, she was one of the first photo shoots that I booked. Without even knowing if I was any good, she booked me for a couple session for her and her boyfriend James. She gave me the opportunity to work with a couple, to learn, to practice posing and everything else that I was just beginning to wrap my head around. She believed in me when I wasn’t really sure if I was ready to believe in myself.

Malaika and James were the first faces you saw on my very first website. Their trust helped me identify the type of photographer that I wanted to be and the types of images that fired up my soul.

Since that first couple session, Malaika and James have grown just as much as my business has! They are engaged and in April welcomed Asher into their little family! It brings me so much joy to see Malaika as a mother and considering the love and support she contributes to my life, I know Asher is one lucky kid.
