This purple and turquoise Riviera Maya destination wedding will always be a favourite of mine. Not only was it full of beautiful details, my favourite colour (turquoise), and a beach side ceremony, it also was a fabulous affair to celebrate two of my favourite people. Brody and Serena are kind, thoughtful, generous and oh so in love! It has been an honour and a joy to see them grow as a couple and be a witness to this amazing day in their love story.
Usually in wedding posts I gush more about the bride, and I adore Serena and she looked stunning on her wedding day! But this groom… he is special one. We sat on student council together in high school, we dressed in garnet and gold and cheered on the teams, heck I am pretty sure a few times I had to follow him around while he was dressed in a giant bear costume so no one would push him over. Back then I wouldn’t have guessed that years down the road we would be sitting at family dinners together. Its a funny thing when a friend truly becomes your family. There is something just a little extra special about that.
I will admit that my dad made some questionable choices in his life (most of them involved his love for fast cars and inappropriate jokes). But, I can also say for certain that he made some amazing choices too. One of his better choices made Brody my brother and gave me a wonderful step-mom and two other (slightly hilarious and charming) brothers too. I am proud to call this ship of fools part of my family, and even though we recently lost our captain, I think we are still sailing pretty strong. I feel pretty good to speak for everyone when I say that we are glad Serena climbed on board!
Okay… enough sappy stories and boat analogies… lets get on to the pretty pictures! Congratulations Brody and Serena. Thank you for choosing me to capture your special day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness from the bottom of my heart. I love you both!
Serena and Brody chose to do a first look before the ceremony and it was perfect! Since there was a 100% chance of rain for later in the day, we scored the most amazing sunny skies and beautiful moments!
Honestly Serena… you were such an incredibly beautiful Bride! I couldn’t pick a favourite photo of you if I tried!
